Uploading Photos to ArtWorld
- Uploading basics
- Uploading photos places an online copy of your photos on the Artworld web site. This enables you to show and sell your art product.
Here are some basic rules to keep in mind about uploading photos to the Gallery:- Choose an upload tool.
- Make sure your photos are JPEG (.jpg,.jpeg or .jpe) file format. If your photos are not already in this format, you need to convert them.
- Start the upload process by clicking the Upload Images tab at the top of any Item on the Artworld Art Gallery web site.
- Choosing an upload tool
- The method you use to upload photos will depend on these factors:
- Your camera -- digital or film.
- Your browser -- Internet Explorer, Netscape
- Your operating system -- Windows or Mac OS
- Digital Camera Owners
- If you're using a digital camera, first transfer your photos from your camera to your computer's hard drive. Then choose an upload tool.
- Converting to JPEG files
- Most digital cameras save photos as JPEG files. However, before you begin uploading images from your computer's hard drive to the Gallery, make sure all of the photos you want to upload are stored as JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg or .jpe) files. The JPEG format allows the Gallery to provide you with the best quality photographic prints. If your images are saved in a format other than .jpg, you can use an image editing application to convert the files. Some of the most popular applications include:
- Google Picassa (Recommended)
- Adobe Photoshop (Professional)
- PhotoDeluxe (Consumer)
- Jasc's PaintShop Pro
- MGI PhotoSuite II
Once your photos have been saved as JPEGs, you can upload them to the Gallery.
- Upload Limits
- Currently, the only limit is file size in bytes per image. We don't have any limit for the number of videos you can upload, and don't foresee adding a ceiling anytime in the future. So get crankin' and upload as many videos as you'd like—it's more content for the whole YouTube community to enjoy!
- Maximum File Size in bytes for listing images: 150000 bytes
- Maximum Image Width for listing images: 700 bytes
- Maximum File Size in bytes for user images: 150000 bytes
